Daniel, the young captain of the Purdy Queen, is the only pirate not
drinking from the tray Samantha has brought round.
Samantha
You haven’t touched your drink, Captain.
Daniel
No madam. I drink rarely and then only when the situation demands.
Thus the man inside is fettered against ungentlemanly conduct.
Samantha
Oh right. What does that mean?
Daniel
Drink releases the inner man.
Bosun
If his inner man is violent, it will come out when he drinks.
Daniel
I’m not a violent man.
Simeon
Makes him argumentative.
Daniel
I’m not an argumentative man.
Bosun
Makes him lustful.
